On The Spot Post-Production

On The Spot - Post Production This was definitely the most time-consuming project out of all of them this year. Besides that, however, it was a lot of fun getting to film things outside of the classroom and put some own creative spin on my own work.  Choosing The Right Music I was inspired by a few things from the videos shown in class. For one thing, I learned just how important sound is as the actual video itself. The sound is able to captivate the audience by following a certain tone that is easy for the viewer to understand. This was the hardest thing for me to do as it required a lot of thinking on my part in order to captivate this same feeling- I couldn't just slap any random music and call it a day. The search for the right kind of music was the most annoying part of this project for me because of this. I would play some songs found on bensound over my project, but none of them worked out.   - Sound Design - "Equalization & Microphone Types" What is the difference between dynamic and condenser microphones?   I n terms of sensitivity, condenser mics are more sensitive compared to dynamic mics. Dynamic mics also require no power, while condenser mics require a battery or phantom. What is directionality?   It is the "pickup pattern" of a microphone in which your microphone can pick up sound from a particular direction. There are three basic types such as omnidirectional, cardioid, and super-cardioid. Omnidirectional can pick up sounds equally from all directions, while cardioid is more sensitive to sounds from the front.  Why would you use a lavalier? A shotgun? A dynamic?   It all depends on the scene's situation. Lavaliers and shotguns are better used when the subject needs their hands free in the shot for things such as hand movements and presentations. Shutter speed gives photos the ability to have changed brightness, as well as dramatic effects such as freezing action and blurred motion,               How is it measured? Shutter speed is usually measured in fractions of a second (e.g. 1/4 of a second).  <<fast - low>>                 How does it affect exposure? It can affect exposure depending on how long the shutter speed is. This is because the longer it is, the more that the camera sensor gathers light, resulting in brighter photos.
