  - The Camera - "Aperture & Iris"                What is aperture?   It is essentially the "pupil" of a camera lens, in which the lens "open" and can be shrunk or enlarged in order to allow more or less light into the camera sensor.                  How does it affect exposure?   It changes the amount of light that is able to reach the camera sensor. Large, wide openings of the aperture will result in brighter photos because more light is passed. A smaller, tight opening of the aperture will result in darker photos because less light is passed. How does it affect depth of field?  A large aperture will yield greater background blur, whilst a small aperture will yield little background blur. On The Spot Post-Production

On The Spot - Post Production This was definitely the most time-consuming project out of all of them this year. Besides that, however, it was a lot of fun getting to film things outside of the classroom and put some own creative spin on my own work.  Choosing The Right Music I was inspired by a few things from the videos shown in class. For one thing, I learned just how important sound is as the actual video itself. The sound is able to captivate the audience by following a certain tone that is easy for the viewer to understand. This was the hardest thing for me to do as it required a lot of thinking on my part in order to captivate this same feeling- I couldn't just slap any random music and call it a day. The search for the right kind of music was the most annoying part of this project for me because of this. I would play some songs found on bensound over my project, but none of them worked out. A silly thing I found out was that Jazz songs actually fitted well in the background ...

  - Sound Design - "Dynamic Range and Metering" What is dynamic range?   It is the manner of difference between the softest and loudest sounds of an audio signal, including their decimals and hold. How does it affect sound recording?   Dynamic range can be altered in order to amplify/reduce the volume of loud and quiet sounds. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why is metering important?   It shows the exact moment-to-moment volume of an instrument and grants more accuracy toward the level of sound quality. It can save you from not knowing whether your sound is too low or too high. How can it help us with our sound recording?   It can be helpful for figuring out the level of intensity in the sound that listeners perceive with their ears.
